1. Who we are
Harkster Limited is the data controller for the Alpha Capture website. Harkster Limited is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14661786. Our registered office is 5 Providence Court, Pynes Hill, Exeter, Devon, England, EX2 5JL.
2. What data we collect
This website collects four categories of personal data:
- Data you volunteer when joining the Alpha Capture founding community: your name, email address and role, your company and LinkedIn profile if you give them, who introduced you if supplied, and evidence of when and how you consented to updates.
- Operational information created while administering the founding community: professional-verification status and reason, useful engagements, qualified introductions, Founding Codes, and merchandise unlock or fulfilment status.
- Data you volunteer by emailing us at hello@harkster.com or another @harkster.com address: your name and email address, your organisation if you give it, and the content of your message or any attachments.
- Standard server and hosting logs generated automatically when you visit any page: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and timestamps. These are used for site security and operation, including rate limiting.
This site does not use analytics or any non-essential tracking technology. The founding community has no member accounts or logins.
3. How we use it
We use founding-community data to send the product updates and early-access news you requested, understand whether a member is relevant to the community, invite suitable people to research or testing, record useful contributions and introductions, and administer founding merchandise. We use enquiry data to respond to you and log data to operate and secure the website. We do not add ordinary enquiries to the founding-community update list.
4. Lawful basis
We rely on your consent to send AlphaCapture product updates and early-access news. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to an update or emailing hello@harkster.com. We rely on legitimate interests to assess professional relevance, administer the founding community and merchandise, respond to enquiries, and keep the website secure and operating correctly. Where a conversation progresses toward access to Alpha Capture, the relevant basis may instead be steps necessary to enter into, or perform, a contract.
6. Third parties and processors
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf so that the website and our email can function. When the site is hosted, the selected website hosting provider will process server log data and founding-community submissions, and our email provider processes the content of messages sent to @harkster.com addresses. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. International transfers
Where any of the processors described above operate outside the United Kingdom, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data, consistent with UK GDPR requirements for international transfers.
8. Retention
The retention period for founding-community records is To be confirmed. Enquiry correspondence is kept in our mailbox for as long as reasonably needed for business record-keeping; we do not operate an automated deletion schedule for it. The retention period for server log data will depend on the selected hosting provider and is To be confirmed before launch.
9. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased, in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to our processing of your data, in certain circumstances; and
- receive your data in a portable format, where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@harkster.com.
10. Complaints
We would welcome the chance to address any concerns directly, so please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
11. Children
This website is directed at institutional investment professionals and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
12. Changes to this policy
